The Congress President Mrs Sonia Gandhi said the government had decided to take the huge risk for the passage of the Women's reservation bill in the Rajya Sabha. <br/> <br/>Speaking to a private news channel on Tuesday, she said the government had gone ahead with the bill after assessing the negatives and positives. <br/> <br/>Mrs Gandhi expressed gratitude to BJP and Left parties as also coalition partners for extending support to the bill. Mrs Gandhi said the larger picture of women empowerment has to be taken in mind. <br/> <br/>She said she had expected problems in getting the bill passed as it was a difficult resolution.<br/> <br/>On the threat of withdrawal of support by outside allies SP and RJD, Mrs Gandhi said the government had taken the decision to go ahead with the bill after consultations involving her, Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh and Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee.<br/> <br/>Reaffirming Congress party's commitment to the Bill, she said this was reflected by the decision to take the first step of getting it passed by the Rajya Sabha. <br/><br/>
