The government today denied receiving any proposal from the Khadi and Village Industries Commission, KVIC, to promote Khadi in schools and other establishments. Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Kalraj Mishra however stated in the Lok Sabha that KVIC has suggested to the Human Resource Development Ministry to introduce khadi clothes in school uniforms. The Health Ministry and state government hospitals have also been requested to examine the use of khadi clothes in their establishments, he said.
