Government has decided to wind up two power projects Bhairiv Ghati and Maneri Bhali on Bhagirthi river in Uttarakhand.<br/><br/>The decision has been taken in view of the environmental concern on the projects. This was revealed by the Environment Minister Mr. Jairam Ramesh while talking to reporters in New Delhi today. He said the decision Lohari Nag project will taken shortly. He hinted that the project may not be stopped as 40 percent of the work has been completed with an expenditure of 600 crore rupees. He also said that a decision on the Navi Mumbai airport will be taken after due consultations .<br/><br/>The Minister said that the expert group will submit its report tomorrow and it will be discussed in the concerned group on 21 and 22 of this month. <br/><br/>Replying to a question he said a balance has to be struck between the development and environmental concerns and a debate on the issue will continue. He made it clear that his ministry will ensure that the environment rules are applied and there is no question of deviation.
