The government has asked the textile industry to explore investment opportunities available in technical industry. Speaking at a function in New Delhi today,Textiles Secretary Zohra Chatterji emphasised the need to spread awareness about the specialised textiles. She added that there is a need to create linkages between raw-material suppliers and manufacturers.AIR correspondent reports, technical textiles are engineered products which are used for various applications including medical, protective clothing, automotive, industrial and in agriculture sector. According to reports, the technical textiles industry is expected to touch one lakh fifty eight thousand crore rupees by 2016-17 from forty one thousand crore in 2010-11.
