Minister of State for Chemicals and Fertilizers Hansraj Gangaram Ahir today said the Government will take forward the talks with Iran to manufacture gas- based Urea in that country at cheaper costs. Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a programme in Hyderabad this evening, he said Government is actively considering production of Urea in Iran and initial talks are already held at the high level.<br/><br/>He said presently the 80 per cent subsidy amount has been involved in gas-based Urea and the costs will come down if gas available for less. Stating that there are several problems in bringing gas through pipe line, he said the proposal to produce urea in Iran will be taken forward to a logical conclusion.<br/><br/>Mr Ahir also said the organic fertilizer produced from the solid urban waste will be linked with the Soil Health Cards scheme. Based on the Soil Health reports, the amount of urea required for each farm will be determined and a policy to include organic fertilizer to the scheme will soon be announced. He said by January next year, the scheme will be implemented.
