Government will spend around Rs 62,000 crores on the four-laning works of National Highways across the country. Road,Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari informed in the Lok Sabha during question hour today that in future, four-laning works will be taken up on Public, Private Partnership mode.Mr. Gadkari said the UPA government had approved 51 road projects in the last three years. He said 18 of them have been terminated due to various reasons including inadequate land acquisitions and environment clearances.
