Govt to soon set up panel for revival and rehabilitation of sick MSME units

Government has said the national policy for the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), which seeks to boost the overall growth of the sector is expected to be released by the end of this year. <br/><br/>Addressing a press Conference in New Delhi on the completion of two years of NDA government, MSME Minister Kalraj Mishra said a committee headed by former Cabinet Secretary Prabhat Kumar is drafting the policy and will submit its recommendations by 31st of October this year.<br/><br/>The Minister also said, a committee will be set up by the end of this month to look after the revival and rehabilitation of sick MSME units. He said, the Ministry will soon to come up with a Scheme of Revival and Rehabilitation of MSME, which will benefit the MSMEs from 1st of next month.

Weeks after the UK declined to deport Vijay Mallya, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley today said countries must cooperate when people flee after breaking law. <br/><br/>Mr Jaitley said this at a function at India Club in Osaka, Japan. Jaitley, who arrived here this afternoon in the second-leg of his six-day investor wooing trip to Japan, said the system was not helpless and Banks are taking very tough position in order to recover their assets and investigative agencies, whenever there is a breach of law, will take laws to its own logical course. <br/><br/>Britain last month told India that it cannot deport Mallya, who had flown to London on March 2 just days before a consortium of lenders knocked on the doors of Supreme Court to recover Rs 9,431.65 crore of loan and interest, but could consider an extradition request.
