The Government on Wednesday said, manufacturers of chewing tobacco are spoiling the health of the consumers and they are going scot-free. <br/><br/>Speaking at a function in New Delhi today to mark the World Health Day, the Health and Family Welfare Minister, Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad said all efforts should be made to firmly deal with the menace. <br/><br/> He said the government is in the process of setting up Tobacco testing labs across the country in order to regulate tobacco products for their harmful contents and emissions. He said that National Tobacco Control Programme is being implemented in 42 districts of 21 states in the country. <br/><br/>He said, more than 50 per cent of cancers among men and 25 per cent of cancers among women are related to tobacco consumption in India. He said, the National Cancer Control Programme is being revised with a focus on community based approach and strengthening cancer care facilities in districts and tertiary care levels.<br/><br/>Mr. Azad said the government is also in the process of establishing ON-CO-NET, a network connecting the regional and peripheral centres, facilitating telemedicine services and continued medical education.<br/>
