Government today approved creation of seven posts of Indirect Tax Ombudsmen across the country to address complaints and grievances of indirect tax payers, Briefing reporters after a cabinet meeting, the Information and Broadcasting Minister Mrs Ambika Soni said, the Ombudsmen offices will be set up at Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata , Bangalore, Ahmedabad and Lucknow.To encourage and expand the use of electric vehicles, the Cabinet approved a proposal to set up a National Mission for electric mobility. This will promote electric mobility and manufacturing electric vehicles in India. The Cabinet also approved setting up of National Board of Electric Mobility – an apex body for making recommendations in electric mobility.In yet another decision the Cabinet approved tax exemption of about 45 crore rupees for incomes from the ongoing World Cup.According to finance ministry officials, the total receipts of the ICC from the ongoing World Cup is 1,476 crore rupees , while the cost for organising the event is 571 crore rupees.
