The government will set up Rashtriya Swachhata Kendra at Rajghat in New Delhi under Swachh Bharat Mission. Addressing media in New Delhi on the culmination of Swachhata Pakhwada last month, Rural Development, Water and Sanitation Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said, the work for setting up this Kendra will begin soon and it will be functional next year. <br/><br/>He said, the task has been assigned to his Ministry and Culture and Tourism Ministry. He said, Swachh Bharat Mission is the top priority of the Government and it has but it has become a national mission for the people. He said, since the launch of mission, on 2nd October, 2014, till date more than 4 crore individual household toilets have been built and 135 districts of the country have become Open Defecation Free, ODF. <br/><br/>He added that apart from Sikkim, Kerala and Himachal Pradesh which are ODF Sates, 6 to 7 more States will soon be declared ODF. Mr Tomar said, the total budget for the Mission is now 19,300 crore rupees with a Central share of 14,000 crore rupees.<br/><br/>Speaking on the occasion, Culture and Toruism Minister Mahesh Sharma highlighted the initiatives taken during the Swachhata Pakhwada. He said, to create awareness on cleanliness, his Ministry has developed an e-guide App to create awareness for the tourists visiting National museum. Sharma said India has jumped 25 places to move to 40th place in World Tourism Index, according to a survey announced last month.
