The Government has proposed to set up a National Mission for Empowerment of Women to achieve convergence among women-centric programmes of various participating ministries. Giving this information in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha today, the Minister of State for Women and Child Development, Mrs. Krishna Tirath said the actual contours of the Mission are being finalised. She said the proposed Mission is envisaged as an umbrella programme to monitor its implementation. <br/> <br/><br/>
