The government today said it will set up 33 solar parks across the country to reduce the production cost of solar power. Replying to a supplementary question in Lok Sabha, Power Minister Piyush Goyal said government has taken a number of steps to reduce the production cost of solar power in the country, including fiscal and financial incentives, concessional customs and excise duties and preferential tariffs.<br/><br/>He said other incentives include procurement of solar power by financially strong intermediaries like NTPC, long term vision and stable policy framework so that investors can plan better investment. Mr Goyal said cost of solar power has already come down due to transparent E-reverse auction for its procurement.
