Govt to set up 100 MSMEs each year in every district of India

Government has decided to set up hundred new Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) each year in every district across the country under the Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme. Briefing reporters on the eve of National Awards to (MSME) in New Delhi, the Minister of MSME, Mr. K.H Muniyappa said his ministry has allocated over eight thousand crore rupees in the 12th plan to set up 3.39 lakh enterprises in the country. He said this will generate over 27 lakh employment opportunities. Mr. Muniyappa said that the MSME sector has been growing consistently over ten percent for the last five years and government will give full support to the sector. He said government is also working on a special package for the MSME sector. Our correspondent reports that President Pranab Mukherjee will give away National Awards to 108 awardees of MSME sector at a function in New Delhi tomorrow.
