Toughening its stance on the tenure limitation of the sports bosses in the country, the Government today proposed to send a senior official to the International Olympic Council (IOC) headquarters in Switzerland to sort out the matter. A day after the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) forwarded letters of support from IOC and the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) that warned against any interference in tenure limitation of the administrators, the government said it would send a detailed response. <br/>An official statement issued today says that the Government is immediately sending to the highest authorities in IOC, a detailed response on the matter.<br/>Retracting his earlier stance, Commonwealth Games Organising Committee Chairman, Suresh Kalmadi today said that the internal differences between the National Sports Federations and the Sports Ministry will not distract the preparation for the Games. He told reporters in New Delhi that the 2010 Games will be the best of all time. Earlier, after the Sports Ministry restored the order limiting the tenure of office bearers of National sports bodies, Mr. Kalmadi had said that it may affect the preparation for the Games. The Sports Minister, Dr. M.S. Gill however maintained that the restoration of the order will have no impact on the Commonwealth Games. Earlier Mr. Kalmadi had a meeting with the Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh. Mr. Kalmadi later told reporters that Dr. Singh has assured him that he would look into the Sports Ministry's order. He was accompanied by the Presidents and office bearers of various national sports federations. Mr. Kalmadi also said that he has assured the Prime Minister that they will work hard for the success of the Games. <br/>The Commonwealth Games Federation's Co-ordination Committee today complimented the Commonwealth Games Organising Committe for the progress in the Games preparation. In a related development, the Chairman of the Co-ordination Committee of Commonwealth Games Federation, Austin Sealy described the differences between Sports Ministry and the Federations as unfortunate with Commonwealth Games just around five months away. He tols reporters in New Delhi that the Co-ordination Committee is happy with the progress in the Games Preparation. He added that the completion of projects for the Games has to be addressed.<br/><br/>
