Government has decided to revise the financial limits for appraisal and approval of non-plan schemes and projects by competent authorities. <br/><br/>In a series of tweets, Finance Ministry today said, as per revised delegation, committee on Non-Plan Expenditure will now appraise proposals involving expenditure of 300 crore rupees and above. Earlier limit was 75 crore rupees while non-plan schemes and projects of less than 300 crore rupees can now be appraised by ministry and Standing Committee on Finance. <br/><br/>Financial power of the minister-in-charge of administrative Ministry for approval of the Non-Plan schemes and projects has also been enhanced. Schemes and projects costing less than 500 crore rupees can now be approved at Minister-in-charge level from the earlier 150 crore rupees. <br/><br/>AIR correspondent reports, this enhancement of financial powers is expected to expedite appraisal and approval process in the central government ministries and departments.
