Centre has decided to make available over 19 lakh tonne of sugar for the month of January to meet the internal demand. According to an official release, the quantity include 2.18 lakh tonne levy sugar and 17 lakh tonne non- levy sugar. It said that the government will not hesitate to release additional quota of sugar if the sugar prices show abnormal increase.
