Govt to provide scholarships to five crore minority students in next 5 years

<span style="color: #222222;">Union Government will provide scholarships to five crore minority students in the next five years to ensure their socio-economic-educational empowerment. The scholarships include pre-matric, post-matric and merit-cum-means. Out of five crore students, 50 percent will be girls students. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Union Minister for Minority Affairs  Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said this while chairing the  Governing and  General Body meetings of Maulana Azad Education Foundation in New Delhi today.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">He said that Narendra Modi Government is committed to inclusive growth with trust. Mr Naqvi further said that school dropout girls from Minority communities will be linked to education and employment through providing bridge courses from reputed educational institutions.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The Minister also announced that Padho-Badho Awareness Campaign will be launched across the country. It will encourage education especially in minority girls in those areas of the country where people do not send their children to schools due to socio-economic reasons.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The campaign will include street plays, short films and cultural programmes. The campaign will be launched in 60 minority concentrated districts of the country during the first phase.</span><br />
