News ContentThe government today asked the BJP-led Opposition and the media to refrain from speculating on the contents of the draft report by the Joint Parliamentary Committee, JPC, on 2G Spectrum scam.
Telecom Minister Kapil Sibal told reporters in New Delhi, the report is yet to be finalized before it is tabled in Parliament. He said the BJP should wait till the final report comes out after the next meeting of the JPC.
Meanwhilr, the BJP has called the alleged leakage of the draft report as gross breach of Parliamentary propriety. Party spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad today said the BJP has serious reservations on the contents of the report and will voice its dissent in the JPC meeting.
AIR correspondent reports the draft report, which was circulated among the members yesterday, has given a clean chit to Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh on the 2G spectrum allocation, saying he was misled by the then Telecom Minister A. Raja.
The report blames Mr. Raja for tweaking norms in favour of a few companies. It rubbishes the loss figure of 1.76 lakh crore rupees estimated by the CAG.
