The government has decided to offload 5 per cent stake in the state-owned company Oil and Natural Gas Corporation- ONGC through the auction route on the 1st of next month. It may fetch the exchequer about 12,000 crore rupees. Petroleum Minister Jaipal Reddy said this while talking to reporters after the meeting of the Empowered Group of Ministers (EGoM) chaired by Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee in New Delhi yesterday.The Petroleum Minister said that India is not facing any external pressure on buying crude oil from Iran. He said, India will abide by UN sanctions only and not those imposed by any bloc of nations.
