Govt to not allow ITIs set up in private sectors without fulfilling quality & standards: Rajiv Pratap Rudy

Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Minister Rajiv Pratap Rudy today said government will not allow Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) set up in private sectors without fulfilling quality and standards. <br/><br/>Responding supplementaries in the Lok Sabha, Mr Rudy said, several ITIs are functioning in different districts only to fulfill their commercial goals. Quoting Uttar Pradesh, he said above three lakh 50 thousand students are enrolled in different ITIs in the state and paying 1100 crore rupees as fee to the institutions where proper infrastructure and quality are lacking.<br/><br/>The Minister said 2500 blocks are still left where no ITI is working. The minister said that government is considering to set up minimum one ITI in every block. Mr Rudy said the Directorate General of Training under ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship has been making continuous efforts to improve the quality of training being offered by the IITs functioning in the country .
