Government will make payments under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Programme and Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana through post offices in future.<br/><br/>Information and Broadcasting Minister M Venkaiah Naidu made the announcement in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh today. Postal payments banks will soon be opened to make these payments as there are not many commercial bank branches.<br/><br/>Mr Naidu said the Centre's objective is to ensure welfare funds reach the beneficiaries directly without any pilferage.<br/><br/>Earlier, Andhra Pradesh Postal and Telecom circles were opened in the presence of Communications<br/>Minister Manoj Sinha, M Venkaiah Naidu and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu. Speaking on the occasion, Venkaiah Naidu said, the communications department has an onerous task of playing a vital role in the making of a Digital India that will change the face of the country.
