Govt. to maintain vigilance on export sector throughout the year

Commerce Secretary Dr Rahul Khullar says, the Government will maintain vigilance on the export sector throughout the year and will respond to challenges from time to time. He was the addressing exporters at an open house meet in Chennai today. Dr Khullar said the Annual Supplement to the Foreign Trade Policy announced earlier this week has provided a reprieve to the exporters. He also said that the Government will undertake a review of the policy in December. Representatives of exporters said the supplement aims to provide continuity and stability to the policy. Exporters from various industries including cotton, leather, seafood, glass, paper, petrochemical and automotive sector interacted with the Commerce Secretary and raised their concerns on different issues. Dr Khullar assured the exporters that he would look into their problems. The meet was jointly organised by the Federation of Indian Export Organisations and Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry.
