Govt to launch national mission to provide single window service to SHGs

Government will soon launch a national mission to provide single window service to the women self help groups. Replying the debate on Women Self Help Groups, SHG, in the Rajya Sabha the women and child development minister Mrs. Krishna Tirath said that she will also take up the issue of providing loan waiver to women groups with the Finance Ministry. <br/><br/>Mrs.Tirath also said that Suyam Sidha Scheme is being expanded to cover more women entrepreneurs so as to create enough employment opportunities.<br/><br/>Intervening in the debate the minister of state in the Prime Ministers office Mr. Prithvi raj Chavan assured the members that he will convey all the points raised by the members to the Prime Minister.<br/><br/>Earlier the members expressed their anger at the absence of various ministers who are dealing with the women self help groups.<br/><br/>Participating in the debate the members Mrs, Brinda Karat opposed the microfinance bill saying it will be disastrous for the country and SHGs will be the most affected.<br/><br/>Other members in their arguments called for taking more effective steps for empowerment of women.<br/>
