Govt to increase PLF of thermal power plants to 100% from 77%

The Government will take effective measures to increase the Plant Load Factor (PLF) of the thermal power plants in the country to hundred per cent from the present 77 per cent. <br/><br/>Replying to questions in the Lok Sabha today, the Minister of State for Power, Mr. Bharat Singh Solanki said several initiatives have been taken to increase the PLF by undertaking renovation, modernisation and life extension of the thermal power plants through the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC). <br/><br/>The Minister also said the government is also seeking help from some of the foreign countries in the modernisation of the thermal power plants. Mr Solanki said there has been an improvement in the Plant Load Factor of many of the old thermal power plants.<br/>
