Govt. to hold dialogue with Kashmir separatists to formulate solution of problem in Valley

Union Home Minister P Chidambaram announced that the government will hold a dialogue with Kashmir separatists to formulate unique solution to the problem in the valley, but made it clear that the talks will be held away from the media glare.<br/>The Home Minister was addressing media persons at an interactive session during the All India Editors Conference on Social and Infrastructure issues in Sinagar in Jammu and Kashmir.<br/>Mr Chidambaram said political parties like National Conference, PDP and Congress have a point of view and the effort will be to hold talks with all shades of political opinion, including some political groups advocating separatism, to arrive a political solution which may be unique and acceptable to the vast majority of the people in Jammu and Kashmir.<br/><br/>On the security scenario in the border state, Mr Chidambaram said the Jammu and Kashmir police, backed by paramilitary forces, will be responsible for maintenance of peace whereas army will defend the borders international border and the Line of Control (LoC).<br/>Lauding the efforts of various security forces in the valley the Home Minister said there has been significant successes on the part of the security forces in the last few months in stopping infiltration from across the border.
