Govt to help MSMEs in recently presented General Budget:Finance Secretary Dr Hasmukh Adhia

Finance Secretary Dr Hasmukh Adhia has said that besides rural economy, government has decided to help Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, MSMEs in the recently presented General Budget. <br/><br/>Addressing FICCI National Executive Committee Members in New Delhi, Mr Adhia said, government will target MSMEs for funding and will ensure that they get credit on time. He said, MSMEs must be the biggest beneficiary of Public Sector Bank Recapitalization. <br/><br/>Dr Adhia said, demonetisation has helped in reducing the cash in the economy significantly. Speaking on global situation, he said, the situation has improved and global GDP and exports are also improving. He said, budget is desired to do something good for rural sector including agriculture sector and strengthening MSME sector. <br/><br/>Financial Services Secretary Rajeev Kumar said, government is looking at insurance as the next sector where it can increase penetration and build on synergies and scale. He said, it is also looking at merging non-life general insurance companies. <br/><br/>Disinvestment and Public Asset Management Secretary Neeraj Kumar Gupta said, government is in the process of conceiving debt Exchange Traded Funds to leverage Public Sector Undertakings capacity to raise funds through bond route.
