Govt to give Rs 5 lakh as compensation to victims of cross border firing

The Government has decided to give five lakh rupees as compensation to civilian victims of the cross border firing. Home Minister Rajnath Singh has also approved the increase of compensation given to those who die in terror related incidents or Maoist violence, from three lakh to five lakh rupees.<br/><br/>Now any civilian who dies due to terror attack, Naxal violence or firing from across the border, shelling or IED explosion, will uniformly be given five lakh rupees as compensation. The amount will be paid to the next of kin of the victim. <br/><br/>An amount of 5 lakh rupees will also be given to those who receive 50 per cent or more disability or incapacitation in such incidents. The compensation amount will be given subject to the condition that no employment has been provided to any of the family members of the victims by the government.
