Government will ensure that passengers' safety is not jeopardised during any flight. Talking to newsmen in New Delhi Civil Aviation Minister Ajit Singh today said that Kingfisher airline has been asked to give actual schedule of the flights to minimize hardship of the passengers.
The Minister ruled out any bailout package by the government for the private carrier. He however, maintained that if the banks are willing to give them loans, they can do it according to the RBI guidelines.
The minister said that government will adopt wait and watch policy with regard to Kingfisher. In reply to a query, Mr. Singh said that closing down of any airline creates more problems for the industry.
The private airline Kingfisher has been asked to appear before the DGCA with an actual schedule of the flights being operated by the company. Out of 64 aircraft, the airline is running only 28 of them. With 28 planes, the DGCA estimates the airline would be able to operate 175 flights each week.
Even today 32 flights were cancelled by the airline across the country.
