Civil Aviation Minister Ajit Singh today said the government will ensure that Kingfisher follows all the safety parameters before it resumes flight operations. Talking to reporters in New Delhi, he said that Kingfisher Airlines should satisfy the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, DGCA about security of passengers and the airline should pass all the maintenance and security clearances.
Kingfisher Airlines has grounded its fleet since Monday after a protest by engineers over delayed payments or non payment of salary. AIR correspondent adds that Kingfisher has been saddled with a huge loss of 8,000 crore rupees and a debt burden of another over 7,000 crore rupees, a large part of which it has not serviced since January. Several of its aircrafts have been either taken away by its lessors or grounded by the Airports Authority of India for non-payment of dues during the past few months.
