Government will digitize the legacy data of driving licenses and registration certificates throughout the country. It will make data available online. The data will also enable Real Time Operating Systems, RTOs to verify the validity of driving license and identify other fake documents. According to an official release, government has allotted around 164 crore rupees during the 11th Five Year Plan for creation of national data base research and development of transportation studies. Its objective was to achieve 100 per cent connectivity and computerisation of data base of RTOs, in all States.
