Govt to devise policies for labourers’ well-being

Government today said that it is formulating innovative policies to enhance the well-being of the labourers and other workers in the factories. Addressing the 12th national conference on safety and health in New Delhi, Labour and Employment Minister Mallikarjun Kharge said that government is committed to eliminate work related injuries, diseases and fatalities in the country.

He added that the effective implementation of the National Policy on Safety, Health and Environment at the Work Place will enhance occupational safety and health standards.

Mr. Kharge also said that management of the environmental impacts associated with the rapid industrialization is one of the greatest challenges along the country's development path.

He added that the country's remarkable progress has created significant challenges for managing pressures on natural resources and the environment.
