Govt to consider possibilities of providing transgender community reservations in education, employment: Athawale

Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Ramdas Athawale today assured the transgender community that the Government will consider the possibilities of providing them reservations in education and employment. He said the government is making all possible efforts to providing justice especially to those who are downtrodden and backward. <br/><br/>He exuded confidence that the Transgender Bill will soon be passed to ensure welfare of the Transgender community. He was speaking after inaugurating a two-day workshop on Developing Modules for Sensitizing Transgender Community and Stakeholders at the National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj in Hyderabad this morning. <br/><br/>Stating that the government will extend all possible help to protect the rights of members of transgender community, the Minister assured them that the proposed act will have all necessary provisions to allow the transgenders live in dignity and protect their rights. He said schemes like Mudra Yojana and programmes like Make in India will assist the transgender community to lead better life socially and economically.
