Urban Development Minister S Jaipal Reddy today said that the government will consider including 28 new cities in the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission, JNNURM. <br/><br/>Addressing a Business Standard Infrastructure Meet in Bangalore, Mr.Reddy said the number of people living in urban areas is expected to go up to 800 million in India in the next 25 years from the present 300 million. <br/><br/>Currently, 65 cities are covered under the JNNURM which was launched in 2005 by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to improve the quality of life and infrastructure in the cities.
