The government will soon come up with a national policy, which will focus on providing benefits of health care and accommodation to the elderly people. A government source said, a note in this regard has been prepared and it will be taken up by the Cabinet soon. The note has been prepared by the Social Justice and Empowerment Ministry in consultation with various ministries and departments of the central government. <br/><br/>The source added, the note has taken into consideration the changing demographic pattern, socio-economic needs of the senior citizens, social value system. This new and comprehensive national policy for senior citizens is based on the National Policy on Older Persons, 1999.
