The Government has said it will soon come up with a draft Grievances Redressal Bill that will address the issue of corruption at local level. Rural Development Minister Jairam Ramesh said, his ministry is drafting the bill based on the experience of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act – MGNREGA. Jairam Ramesh said, the draft bill is expected to be put in public domain by the end of this week. He said, the proposed legislation will compliment moves by the government to bring in greater accountability in public institutions through the Lokopal Bill, the whistleblowers protection bill and the judicial accountability bill.
