Govt to celebrate Birsa Munda birth anniversary as Janjatiya Gaurav Divas on Nov 15

<span style="color: #222222;">The government has decided to celebrate the birth anniversary of Bhagwan  Birsa Munda which falls on 15th November as Janjatiya Gaurav Divas. Sri Birsa Munda is revered as Bhagwan by tribal communities across the country. The day is dedicated to the memory of brave tribal freedom fighters so that coming generations could know about their sacrifices for the country.<br />'' <br />'' Addressing media in New Delhi, Union Minister for Tribal Affairs Arjun Munda said that Government of India has planned week-long celebrations starting from 15th November to 22nd November 2021 to celebrate and commemorate 75 years of glorious history of tribal people, culture and achievements. He said, during the period, various programmes will be organised across the country on the occasion. As part of the celebration, several activities have been planned jointly with State Governments. He said, the theme behind each activity is to showcase the achievements of tribals in Indian Freedom struggle, various welfare measures taken by Government of India in education, health, livelihood, infrastructure and skill development. He further informed that on 15th November, which will be celebrated as Janjatiya Gaurav Divas, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will participate in various functions.<br />''<br />''Mr. Modi will pay tributes to  Birsa Munda at his statue at Parliament House and after that will virtually inaugurate a museum dedicated to tribal leader and freedom fighter Bhagwan Birsa Munda in Ranchi of Jharkhand. The museum has been built at the jail complex where Birsa Munda breathed his last. After that on the same day, Narendra Modi will formally launch  Janjatiya Gaurav Divas from Bhopal in  Madhya Pradesh. </span>
