The government is intending to bring in policies which will ease the way for large foreign investments in the oil and gas sector.
Addressing the World Petroleum Congress in Moscow yesterday, Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan stressed the need to increase the production of oil and natural gas in the country and to hasten the pace of domestic exploration and production.
According to an official release issued in New Delhi, Mr. Pradhan said India today consumes 4.5 percent of the world’s primary energy and hence it is imperative that all steps are taken to facilitate the availability of energy for every single person to ensure inclusive growth.
