The Government will bring the Goods and Services Tax, GST Bill in the current Winter Session of Parliament. The bill aims at providing for a uniform indirect tax structure.

Replying to a debate on black money in the Lok Sabha, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said, as far as GST is concerned, a broad consensus has been arrived and there are some issues to be sorted out. He said, the next meeting of the Empowered Committee of State Finance Minister on the GST will be called soon. He said, the Direct Taxes Code is also under consideration.
