The Cabinet has given its approval for the introduction of the Enemy Property Bill in the forthcoming session of Parliament beginning 9th of November. Briefing the media after a Cabinet meeting, the Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram said, the government has approved amendments to Enemy Property Act 1968. AIR correspondent reports that the Bill seeks to empower the government to dispose of properties in India of those who left for Pakistan in 1947. Earlier, in the Monsoon session, the proposed amendments to the Bill created uproar in the Lok sabha. While, Samajwadi Party criticised the Government for conspiring against Muslims with the BJP, the Saffron Partyb threatened to block the bill.
