Govt to bring Companies Bill in Budget session

Government will bring in a comprehensive Companies Bill in the coming Budget Session of Parliament. This was announced by the Corporate Affairs Minister Murli Deora while addressing a press conference in New Delhi on Tuesday. He said that the focus of the bill will be to promote Corporate Social Responsibility. Deora said that a window of opportunity has been opened for those defaulting companies who are defunct or closed and have not filed their dues and annual returns. He elaborated if such companies do not wish to continue their operations; they can get their names struck off from the list.
