Govt to ascertain facts on force feeding at Maharashtra Sadan

The Government is ascertaining the facts on the force-feeding of a staffer in Maharashtra Sadan in Delhi who was on his Roza by a Shiv Sena MP last week.

Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Mr. M. Venkaiah Naidu informed the Rajya Sabha today saying it is a serious matter.

He said appropriate action would be taken after finding the details .

Shiv Sena, which is being criticized as one of its MPs allegedly forced a fasting Muslim worker to eat, today said that it was a protest against mismanagement at Maharashtra Sadan.

The party also stated that the entire issue was being given a communal colour only to derive political mileage and to malign the party's image.

An editorial in the party mouthpiece ‘Saamna’ said that Shiv Sena respects all religions but will not tolerate if anyone tries to flaunt his religious affiliation for intimidation.

It said that one should keep his religion in his heart and in his house, but if someone wears it on sleeve and tries to malign Shiv Sena by playing politics over it, then it will not be tolerated.

The editorial also criticized the poor quality of service being rendered at Maharashtra Sadan by the management.

Without naming its MP Rajan Vichare who purportedly force-fed a Muslim caterer, who is fasting during Ramzan, at the Sadan, the editorial questioned whether it was wrong to question injustice.

It also stated that it was not written on the caterer’s face that he was a Muslim and it was just a coincidence.
