The Government will announce by September 1, the names of urban centres that would there in the list of 100 smart cities.<br/><br/>This was informed today by the Union Minister of Urban Development and Housing M Venkaiah Naidu. <br/><br/>Naidu was speaking to reporters in programme named 'National Conclave on Smart Technologies' organised by Smart Cities Council India in Hydrabad.<br/><br/>He said the competition among cities will be on providing better amenities to citizens and administration, including accountability and transparency, based on which ranking would be done.<br/><br/>'Smart City' is Prime Minister Narendra Modi's project with the vision of making cities more inclusive, besides encouraging the economic growth.
