The government today said that it is planning to allow private radio stations to air news sourced partially from All India Radio news bulletins. Addressing a session on Future of Media at the ongoing India Economic Summit in New Delhi today,the Information & Broadcasting Minister, Mrs. Abmika Soni said that a cabinet note is being prepared in this regard. She said, the news could be related to local sports events, weather bulletins and employment news. She said, the move could help improve the economic viability of private radio stations.
