Govt. tells Beijing to not to discriminate Indian visa applicants on domicile grounds

New Delhi has conveyed to Beijing that there should be no discrimination against visa applicants of Indian nationality on grounds of domicile and ethnicity. In a written reply in the Rajya Sabha today External Affairs Minister S.M. Krishna said that the staple visas being issued to residents of Jammu and Kashmir has been taken up with China. Mr. Krishna said that during the Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh's meeting with Chinese premier on the sidelines of East Asia Summit in Hanoi on 29th of October, it has been conveyed to Beijing that the two countries must show sensitivity to each others core concerns. He asserted that India continuously stresses for dialogue to resolve all bilateral outstanding issues. In response to another question he said that the two countries have appointed Special Representatives to address the boundary issue. He made it clear that Arunachal Pradesh is an integral part of India and this has been clearly conveyed to China.
