Government today said it has targeted to cover 70 thousand minority school-drop-outs under the Nai Manzil scheme during 2016-17. In a written reply to a question in Rajya Sabha, Minority Affairs Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said, a budget of 120 crore rupees has been allocated for the scheme. <br/><br/>He said, the scheme is an educational and livelihood initiative supported by the World Bank, which can be availed of by the school drop-outs belonging to six notified minority communities. The communities are Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Parsis and Jains. It also includes Muslim students studying in madarsas. The scheme has been rolled from the current financial year.
