The government has said that discussion and passage of the Lokpal Bill in Parliament is its priority. Talking to reporters outside Parliament House, Minister of State in PMO V Narayanasamy said that the government has given a notice to the Rajya Sabha Chairman for taking up the bill, as it is pending in the Upper House

Meanwhile, Social activist Anna Hazare began his indefinite fast this morning at Ralegan Siddhi in Ahamadnagar District of Maharashtra for getting the Jan Lokapal bill approved in the ongoing winter session of Parliament. Mr. Hazare told media perons that he will end his fast only after Rajya Sabha approves the bill.
