Road transport and highways minister Nitin Gadkari today said the government is taking all measures for safe passage of animals as well as development of National Highways. Replying to questions in the Lok Sabha, Mr Gadkari said 11 projects in the country have been delayed on account of wildlife related clearances. <br/><br/>He informed the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has recently held a meeting with the wildlife organizations and has decided that such meetings will be held once every quarter. Replying to supplementaries, Mr Gadkari said nearly 400 highway projects were delayed due to forest and environment clearances. He said the delayed projects worth over three lakh eighty thousand crore rupees.
