Govt taking issue of Chinese nationals seriously :Antony

Government has taken a serious view of the reported increased suspicious activities of Chinese nationals in the country. The Defence Minister, Mr. A.K.Antony today said that investigating agencies are looking into the issue to find out the details and the truth. The Minister was responding to queries of the newsmen about alleged spurt in clandestine activities by Chinese nationals. In recent times, four persons of Chinese nationality have been apprehended from different parts of the country for suspicious activities. Agencies are also questioning the 17th Karmapa over his alleged links to China. Expressing concern over the fate of Indians stuck in Egypt, the Minister asserted that the Government will take whatever action needed for the safety of Indians there. Mr. Antony said, the government is concerned about the developments there and the safety of Indians. He said the External Affairs Ministry and the Civil Aviation Ministry are in constant touch and are making all necessary arrangements to bring back the Indians from there.In protests against the government in Egypt, more than 100 people have lost their lives and several thousand have been left injured in the last six days.On Adarsh Housing society scam, Mr. Antony asserted that those responsible for this will not be spared. Earlier, Mr. Antony presented awards to three best tableaux from Delhi, Karnataka and Jammu and Kashmir besides best performance during the Republic Day parade by the schools.
