Govt taking all steps to preserve environment by adopting sustainable development projects: Goa CM

<span style="color: #222222;">A programme to celebrate World Environment Day, which is observed on 5th June, was organised at Goa Science Centre, Miramar near Panaji this evening. Speaking on the occasion, Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said, his government is taking all steps to preserve environment by adopting sustainable development projects. He said that in Goa, the government is working with nature, highlighting that the new bridge on the Mandovi river in Panaji and the Canacona bypass have reduced travelling distances, thereby checking air pollution.<br />''</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Mr Sawant said, the government is focusing on controlling air and water pollution, waste management and implementing plastic ban. He informed that three solid waste management projects are being developed in Cacora, Verna and Panaji, besides the existing facility in Saligao.  </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Mr Sawant appealed to people to complement the government's initiatives to preserve environment, especially water bodies. Goa chief secretary Parimal Rai was also present at the programme, which was organised by the chief conservator of forest.</span><br />
