Govt taking all possible measures to eradicate corruption from public life

The government has said that it has taken all possible measures to eradicate corruption from public life the country. Addressing concluding session of a programme on Anti-Corruption and Financial Crime in New Delhi today, Minister of State for Personnel V. Narayanasami asked vigilance agencies to take initiatives to avoid any kind of extraneous influence. He said that several legislation have been introduced in current session of Parliament. If these Bills are passed by Parliament, they will add enough teeth to the law enforcement agencies to fight corruption. The Minister said one of the most important Bills which was introduced in Parliament is time-bound delivery of goods and services. The Bill will enable the government to take stringent action against erring officials for their failure to deliver the services within 30 days. The Minister added, it is the responsibility of everyone to strengthen Lokpal and Lokayuktas by acting in unison in the spirit of constitutional ideals.
